Optiver partners with UNSW Sunswift Racing to drive innovation for a better future
Optiver, a tech-driven trading firm, has recently partnered with the Sunswift Racing team, a University of New South Wales (UNSW) initiative that’s focused on redefining the future of sustainable transport through the research and development of prototype electric vehicles.
The partnership aims to support the UNSW Sunswift Racing team, as it strives for further international accomplishments and accelerates the future of renewable energy. Most recently, the team launched the Sunswift 7, their most unique and innovative vehicle to date, and is set to race at the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in 2023.
John Rogan, Head of Recruitment at Optiver said, “Optiver and Sunswift Racing embraces similar values of team excellence, transparency and entrepreneurship. We’re both passionate about leveraging technology and diversity of thought, to innovate and collaborate on unique problems that make a real impact.”
“Partnering with Sunswift Racing gives Optiver the opportunity to bridge the gap between industry and academia, and showcase the various engineering pathways available to the students, post-university studies. We are excited to be involved in this partnership,” continued Mr. Rogan.
Professor Richard Hopkins, Team Principal of UNSW Sunswift Racing, similarly echoes this sentiment, “We are thrilled to partner with Optiver and look forward to the new opportunities that this alliance will bring. As our first trading industry partner, we hope this partnership will inspire a new generation of engineers, researchers and innovators to embrace technology, and contribute to a cleaner, greener future.”
