Designed for both beginners and those with advanced understanding, the eight-session course combines industry-focused theory with practical, hands-on trading skills, giving you a real taste of life as a trader at a global trading firm.

Course overview

Market making theory: Beginning with the foundational elements of market making, including options theory, the course evolves to practical market data analysis and Python algorithm design. Early lectures equip you with the theoretical knowledge you’ll later apply in Optiver’s simulated market environment, Optibook.

Hands-on practice: Accessible 24/7, Optibook uses real-time market data to simulate a genuine market exchange faced by Optiver traders. You’ll team up to design, build, and optimise Python-based trading algorithms in an environment that closely mirrors real-world trading conditions.

Live trading challenge: The course concludes in a competitive event where you’ll deploy your Optibook algorithms against those of your peers. This event replicates the high stakes and rewards of real trading, giving you insights into the day-to-day life of a trader. An exciting prize awaits the winning team!
